Geese Fly Home

Last week when I went out with Jon to shoot some pics of his truck there was a few opportunities for me to take some scenic shots.

The one I was most pleased with would be the one below of the Ambassador Bridge in B&W.
Ambassador Bridge
For some strange reason I always find myself taking photos of Geese, when I was up in Sudbury last summer I took some and now I find myself taking more this year.

Geese with Ambassador Bridge in Background

Could be because they come up real close and allow me to actually take photos without being scared or fly away.

They are so fearless when it comes to onlookers that I actually had to keep walking after the one below to get him to fly which resulted in the exact kind of photo I wanted.

If you would like to see more photos from the shoot, feel free to check them out... Photo Shoot

Rizzi Skatepark Winter Mix

Jake Vanderweyden spends alot of time at Rizzis Bike & Skatepark and this year he decided to put together a little winter mix of alot of the local shredders and some out of towners.

Fun times and solid riding, not to mention that the filming is on key.

One Of The Last

Here we go with what may be the last of the Rizzis Bike & Skatepark edits after finding out last week that the skatepark will be closing come April 3rd. Unfortunatly it was just not profiting enough money to keep it alive but it was a solid run and I want to thank Dan and Tyler Rizzi aswell as anyone else that helped keep that park going!

With that said, here's a new edit with Dan Donlon, Karol Morzicky and Myself.

Skatepark Sessions

Yet another day wraps up shooting at FG skatepark in Windsor, On.

This day was freezing due to the wind but once you start riding/skating things warmed up pretty fast and resulted in a heated session with Ryan Barron, Dakota Baldwin and Dominic Hajdu.

Dominic Hajdu - BS Noseslide

I've shot with Dom once before at the old warehouse that we had over the winter.

I dig his style and he was throwin' down some sick lines throughout the day despite the heavy wind.

Here he starts another line with a BS Noseslide.

Wether he's filmin for an edit or a full-length who knows, but I'll be sure to keep tabs and get it up on the site when it gets finished!

The rest of the guys I shot after Dom are all first timers in front of my lense but they weren't shy to throw down some original and heavy moves.

James Milne - Rock to Fakie
Above: James Milne was doing original moves all day including this Rock to Fakie on the steepest quarter at the park. I got another shot of an original from james here... James Milne

Ryan Barron - Big Heel

The steep quarter at FG makes for a great drop for the skaters and a fun quarter to do some lip tricks on the bike.

Ryan takes advantage of the downhill run up and throws out a gnarly Big Heel.

This was by far the biggest and most badass trick I've seen go down on this drop!

Finishing this one off with a photo from Dak doing a Fakie Flip down the same drop as above.

Early Morning Sunshine

This past saturday my friend Kim from up near North Bay came down to visit friends and family. She has been shooting photography aswell and asked if I would be willing to get up early and go shoot some photos.

After I heavy editing session the night before and not getting to sleep until 4am, our "early" morning turned into a 10am session but either way the sky was perfect and it wasn't crazy cold out.

This first one I decided would make a great change to the header photo and make the site look a little less dark.

I didn't take too many photos because even though the sky was perfect and the sun was shinning it was still terribly cold on the hands, especially when your shooting in the open like this.

Looking on towards land, hard to believe this is the most southern point in all of Canada.

Finishing off with this snap of Kim overlooking Lake Erie and trying to stay warm.

Andrew Bigelow & Mike Grays Odd Couples Video

Andrew Bigelow, Mike Gray and Justin Browne just recently went over to the new Rays MTB Park in Milwaukee to film and enter the annual Rays MTB Odd Couples Contest. Over the past few years it was a MTB teamed up with a BMX but this year was different and as you know Mike Gray has been killing it on a BMX the past couple years but what some of you might not know is that he was once a MTB rider.

This video is absolutely insane and both of these guys throw down some big moves to a classic Pink Floyd song and a funny video.

Vehicle Shots

Yesterday my buddy Jon gave me a shout to see if I'd be down to go with him and get some shots of his truck that he has been building up for the past 3 years, gave me a great chance to go and get some good ones.

This was my first time seeing this truck after hearing a ton about it and it lived up to the talk, on the outside it may just look like a normal truck but after hearing the story of how it was once totalled and rebuilt all by Jon it makes you really appreciate it.

If you'd like to check out the other photos I managed to grab of Jons truck, check them out on my facebook... Truck Photos

Jarret Feairs and Darren Smith in a Last Session

Rizzis Bike & Skatepark, if you don't know already will be coming to a close come April. No exact quote to the reason why it unfortunately has to close but by certain comments it looks to be because of money.

So here might be Jarret and Darrens last session at Rizzis Bike & Skatepark. Its got some wild tricks and was filmed on an iPhone. Darrens last few tricks were intense!

Forest Glade 2011

Its finally that time of year again where mostly everyone stops riding indoors and heads outside to enjoy that sun. Forest Glade is pretty much the BMX park in Windsor, Ontario.

I remember the first time I got to go to FG probably 4 maybe 5 years ago now and getting there and only 1 guy was on a bike and everyone else was on a skateboard. Not to mention how back in that day, the Skater vs. Biker conflict was big. Shout out to Seth for still holdin it down at the park! haha

Well over the past year it's crazy how much BMX has increased in the area, you simply stop by the park now rain or shine and there will be someone there riding a bike. The even better part of the whole thing is that at FG park, everyone knows everyone. Skaters know the bikers and vice versa.

It's awesome to see how much its grown and to be a part of it, and some of you may notice "BnE" marked around the park and even maybe across the city, on bikes and boards. You know who you are and if you don't know what "BnE" actually stands for, thats fine.

Everyone in it just rides bikes, skateboards, parties, and knows how to have a good time!

With that lengthy write up about FG out of the way, here's my first photo from the park this year of Corey Shuker.

New BMX Game for Smart Phones

I seen this Friday morning on my daily checks through the bmx sites and was stoked!

Finally a bmx game, the first one since Mat Hoffmans Pro Bmx 2 back in 2002.

"Illusion Labs is proud to announce a sequel to the popular Touchgrind skateboarding game. This spring we will bring you the worlds first true multitouch BMX game, Touchgrind BMX."

Quick Clips with Ryan Eles

I apologize for having not updated this in a long time. We finally got some warm weather here, and I just wanted to get back on the bike so bad.

What I plan on doing now is putting 1-3 updates up on the site every week instead of doing one everyday.

Heres one to tie you over till more come in.
Ryan has been killing it year round and this new edit just shows he means business!
